Sherri Cohen is a Head of Business Development, North America, and Trusts and Estates, East Coast. She collaborates with fiduciaries and families in producing valuations and sales strategies for their cherished property as well as commercial dealings across specialist categories.
Since joining Bonhams in 2016, Sherri has brought several of the most significant collections to Bonhams US salerooms including Dr. Hirose's $15 million Kusama Collection and L.D. Brinkman's $14 million Western Art Collection.
Sherri is a US and UK qualified attorney with decades of experience in the intersection of art and law. She is a member of several professional, museum and philanthropic organizations such as the Estate Planning Council of New York City, Inc. (board member), STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), PAIAM (Professional Advisors to the International Art Market), New York-Historical Society's Planned Giving Advisory Council, and UJA's Crisis to Stability and Trusts & Estates Group Committee.
Before joining Bonhams, Sherri underwrote art title insurance, handled Nazi-looted art cases and was an associate at the international law firm, Jones Day. She earned a BA (double majoring in Art History and Political Science) from Emory University, where she is still an active member on the alumni college board, and a JD from American University.
