Bonhams are currently seeking a Head of Customer Services for California, who will report to the Global Head of Customer Services. This busy position covers a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities to ensure the smooth running of Customer Services in the Los Angeles and San Francisco offices and is based in Los Angeles. You must provide leadership and co-ordinate training and procedures within the department.

You will be responsible for the recruitment for all customer service administrative staff, ensure that the switchboard is working efficiently and providing excellent customer service. You will assist with the smooth running of auctions, reception, registration, bids, cashiers, credit control checks and be responsible for all aspects and any improvements within the department. You will ensure that customer services liaise with collections and shipping when necessary and deal with any general customer queries and respond efficiently and courteously to all internal and external enquiries received in the customer services department. You will have willingness to take on new assignments with a positive attitude and adapt to any changes as the company develops and expands and have a high degree of organization with ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow up promptly. You will assist the Operations Manage with the scheduling of Preview Staff and work along side the Operations Manager with sale related matters.

You must have managerial skills, be articulate, have a strong administrative background, excellent communication skills both written and oral and show ability to work as a team and promote team effectiveness. You will be flexible and be able to work evenings, weekend and off-site sale coverage. You will be familiar with safeguarding the security and confidentiality of information at all times, have excellent general IT skills and the ability to learn Bonhams systems. Fluency in other languages would be an advantage but not essential.
