The African, Oceanic and Pre-Columbian Art department offers a wide range of unique, high-quality works of art from Sub-Saharan Africa, Polynesia, Micronesia, Melanesia, Australia, Indonesia and from Central and South America. Our auctions include ceremonial and religious items created for the elite as well as utilitarian and specialized items for daily use within the local culture.

Our public exhibitions and auctions take place twice a year in the spring and fall in New York at the same time as our Contemporary and Modern Art auctions. A fully-illustrated catalog with scholarly notes, available both in print and online, accompanies each sale and is distributed to our large network of international buyers, ranging from beginners to seasoned private collectors, dealers and museums. We welcome and encourage new collectors to inquire and ask questions at any time.

Whether a single work of art or an entire collection, we provide complimentary valuations for auction and provides the most professional and prompt service to both buyers and sellers. We are pleased to arrange a confidential on-site visit at your home or business for added security, confidentiality and convenience.
