Stamps, Covers & Postal History

Bonham offers stamps, covers and postal history items through our sister company, Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers. They hold six online auctions a year, with prices ranging from €60 to thousands of euros. Among these, the main auction, held once a year, features major highlights which are presented in a beautifully illustrated auction catalogue.

The Stamps department consists of highly experienced and competent specialists covering the world's long postal history. They valuate and sell original individual stamps, rare covers and collections from passionate philatelists, who focus on collecting stamps from one, or multiple, countries.

Bruun Rasmussen's Stamps auctions attract buyers from around the world, with recent years seeing particularly high demand for stamps from Asian countries, especially China, as well as former colonies. Collections from Great Britain, the USA and the Nordic countries are also very popular among stamp collectors.

Recent impressive results include a collection of rare Chinese covers from 1949-80 that sold for €92,300 (incl. buyer's premium) and a very special collection of Australian stamps from 1850-1966 that sold for €16,800 (incl. buyer's premium), both offered in November 2022; and a large collection of stamps from former Portuguese colonies that sold for €70,500 (incl. buyer's premium) in November 2021.
