Footnotes

This was Spencer's main guitar used on all early recordings and live performances during the heyday of the Spencer Davis Group.

Harmony Guitars was a US brand owned by Sears Roebuck producing affordable acoustic and electric guitars throughout the early and mid-20th century. A receipt present in Spencer's papers indicates that he bought this guitar used on June 28, 1965 for £55, just as the Spencer Davis Group was gathering momentum and a few months before they released "Keep On Running" which landed them at the top of the British charts.

Provenance:
The Spencer Davis Collection.
