Footnotes

  • Founded by Jules-Albert de Dion and Georges Bouton in 1883, De Dion Bouton was a French automobile manufacturer that was once the largest in the world. The company initially offered motorised tricycles, however in 1900 the company expanded to four wheeled vehicles that were built with a focus on quality and reliability. The DH in particular was one of the company's most successful models and was sold right through to the 1920s. This example is a 1912 model that is presented in good older restored condition, featuring a vinyl trimmed bench seat and well accessorised lighting and brass horn. Powered by a 1,642cc four-cylinder engine, with a 3 speed gearbox the De Dion has a good turn of speed. Overall the car presents well, however it could be improved if desired. Running and driving well the car has seen little use in recent years. A charming two-seater ideal for VCC and VSCC Light Car and Edwardian events.
