Footnotes
Two pairs of finely cast gold earrings or pendants called wea (gold), of elongated open faceted diamond shapes (a local variation of the archaic omega form), the edges decorated with little clusters of granulation.
The earrings are most closely associated with the Lio people of Ende, Central Flores and form part of the heirloom treasure of noble houses and a bride's jewellery collection (teo kinga). The various wea are named according to their weight. (Rodgers, 1985)
