A RARE RUBY-PINK ENAMELED BOWL
Yongzheng mark and of the period
Elegantly potted with rounded sides supported on a gently-tapered ring foot, the foot bearing the six-character mark in underglaze blue, the exterior neatly applied with a bright ruby-pink enamel with orange peel texture, the interior with a clear glaze.

    A similar bowl from the collection of Robert Chang was sold at Christie's New York, 21 March 2002, lot 244. A another pair, also with Yongzheng six-character marks and of the period, is illustrated in The Tsui Museum of Art, vol. IV, Hong Kong, 1991, pl.25. A related example with the same diameter as the present lot is illustrated Monochrome Ceramics of Ming and Ch'ing Dynasties, Hong Kong Museum of Art, 1977, no.20, p.33.

    Another bowl, which has an addition of three famille rose prunus blossoms in the interior was sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 31 May 2017, lot 3015; see also a pair of cups also with scattered prunus blossoms in the interiors, illustrated in Qing Imperial Monochromes: The Zande Lou Collection, Hong Kong, 2005, pp.66-67, no.16, where it is noted that the ruby-pink color was one of the favorites of the Imperial household.
