The small baluster vase with a short neck decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt on a clear, crackled glaze with a continuous design of a procession of insects in a parody of sankin kotai (alternate residence duty), the shoulder painted with a lappet collar containing flower blossoms and the foot banded with stylized cherry blossoms, signed on the underside in gilt Yabu Meizan
