Footnotes

  • A range of military vehicles produced by Volvo, the Laplander (to give it its later civilian name) resulted from an order from the Swedish Army, and a pre-production run of 90 examples, designated L2304, was delivered between 1959 and 1961. Volume deliveries of the improved and larger-engined (1.8-litre) L3314 began in 1963. The L33-series was offered in a variety of body types: hardtop, half-cab, soft-top and numerous special versions, all of which were of forward-control configuration except for the open L3304. Military users included the armies of Sweden, Norway, Holland and Saudi Arabia. The L3314 was succeeded by the Volvo C303 in the late 1970s, by which time a total of 7,737 had been delivered. In 1977 an upgraded version of the L3314 was offered on the civilian market as the C202, often referred to as the Laplander.

Believed delivered new in Sweden, this L3314 resided in Austria from the 1980s and was fully restored there between 2013 and 2016. It has formed part of the vendor's significant private collection since 2017. Last serviced in 2018 and described by the vendor as in generally very good condition, the vehicle is offered with a UK V5C registration document and a copy of its old Austrian registration papers.
