Footnotes

  • The Ref.6536 was produced by Rolex for 4 years at the end of the 1950's. It is defined by its gloss black dial with gilt signature and minute track, echoed in colour by the gilt hands. The bezel changed over time and this has the rare early version with no individual minute calibration. The 6mm crown has no crown guards at this period giving it the distinct silhouette of the early submariners.

The exceptional preservation of the watch and especially of the case which retains its original tapered bevelled edge makes this a very rare example of this reference.

Saleroom notices

  • Please note the cataloguing of the dial should read 100m=330ft
