  • Please note that the side panels are patterns 4A and 4C, not 4A and 4B as stated in the catalogue. Additional Provenance; These panels were commissioned for the dining car of the Cote d'Azur Pullman Express, which made its inaugural run between Paris and Ventimiglia (on the Franco-Italian border) on 9 December 1929. The panels were presented to Sir John Cuckney, Chairman of the Thomas Cook Group Ltd, on 3 July 1979 by the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (owners of the Cote d'Azur Pullman Express) to mark the 50th Anniversary of the special relationship between the two companies.
