The pipe case of senryu-zutsu form, with a pronounced wood-grain effect, a cicada carved on the side in high relief, its legs deeply undercut; signed Ishikawa Seiyodo Shi Tomiharu monjin Fune Tomiaki chokoku mono nari (carved by Fune Tomiaki of the Ishi River, pupil of Seiyodo Shi[mizu] Tomiharu). 27.4cm (10¾in).

25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £2,500 up to and including £300,000;
