Footnotes

  • Edward Banger (c.1668 - 1720) was apprenticed to Thomas Tompion in 1687 and became free of the Clockmakers Company in 1695.
Tompion and Banger worked together between circa 1701 - 08, when the partnership was abruptly (and somewhat mysteriously) terminated. Banger produced extremely few pocket watches under his own name, only three are still known to exist.
