Footnotes

The term "Contrappunto" refers to the upward movement of the sommerso layers within the body. This particular work is a particularly good example of the model, showing clear upward movement from the very bottom of the sommerso layers all the way up to the very base of the aperture.

Gino Cenedese, and his successor, his eldest son Amelio Cenedese, would retain the strongest examples of popular models that were produced in the workshop for the firm's archive. This is an example of one of the works that was retained by Amelio, who considered it to be an exceptional example of the iconic model.
