Footnotes

  • The concept for the iconic Vetri Sommersi Contrappunto series was first conceived by Gino Cenedese in 1959, and perfected by Antonio da Ros.

The present lot was one of the very first of five versions of the famous model to be selected by Gino Cenedese and Antonio da Ros to be presented to the world at the XXX Venice Biennale in 1960. The versions listed in the exhibition catalogue were purple/aquamarine, purple/green, light blue, grey and finally the present example offered here in purple.
