Two polychromed wood figures of arhats
Tibet, 18th century
Each figure carved seated on a single-cushion base painted with gilt designs that also repeat across their voluminous robes, their heads painted in cold gilt with facial features highlighted in polychrome and hairline colored in black, the back of each base showing a gilt-painted inscription and the underside showing plugged openings for consecration.
