Literature Limited Edition Bronze Sculptures by Dr. Sherman T. Coleman, Corpus Christi, Texas, 1984, n.p., another example illustrated.
Another example of this life size version of The Legend of the Sand Dollar stands in a fountain at the entrance to the Corpus Christi Museum, in Corpus Christi, Texas. According to Coleman Art, this sculpture illustrates a religious legend, which centers on two children, pictured here on the beach. The boy has broken a shell and released five doves who represent good will and peace. An image of this bronze also appeared on a commemorative coin which celebrated the 25th anniversary of the museum.1
