Date: Circa 1862
Movement: Substantial rectangular plates joined by five screwed pillars, triple chain fusees, a fourth train with going barrel to drive the calendar work, platform for spring detent escapement with helical spring to bimetallic chronometer balance with cylindrical weights, striking the hour on a gong, chiming the quarters on eight bells with eight hammers, trip quarter repeat, calendar work planted between dial and front plate
Dial: Rectangular scroll engraved gilt mask, silvered roman chapter ring enclosing subsidiary seconds and signature in the engraved center, silver dials above for day and date flanking month dial with concentric equation scale enclosing moon phase aperture and leap year indication, blued Breguet hands
Case: On conforming mahogany turntable, the plain base with concave molding, beveled glass panels to the front and sides, pierced scrollwork grill with shuttered winding and setting apertures forming the back panel, faceted folding handle
