With browned twist octagonal barrels, gold bead fore-sights, case-hardened patent breeches each with rectangular gold-lined maker's stamp, gold line and platinum-lined touch-hole, case-hardened tangs each incorporating a back-sight and engraved with foliage involving a part martial trophy, signed border engraved case-hardened detented locks each decorated with a starburst and with foliage on the stepped tail, each with safety-catch, engraved ring neck-cock, rainproof pan and roller, the internal working parts burnished bright, figured half-stocks each with chequered rounded butt, blued steel D-shaped trigger-guards each with large pineapple finial and engraved with a martial trophy and foliage on the bow, blued steel rear ramrod-pipes, small vacant silver escutcheons, barrel-bolt escutcheons, horn fore-end caps, original brass-tipped ramrods, and retaining nearly all their original finish (some areas of surface rust, one trigger detached): in original lined and fitted brass-mounted oak case with some accessories including brass-mounted three-way flask in fine condition retaining nearly all its original lacquered finish, the body of tapering ovoidal section embossed with two vertical lines of beadwork over each side, the interior of the lid with illustrated maker's trade label, the exterior with oval gilt escutcheon with flush-fitting carrying handle and engraved with original owner's monogram, all within a beadwork border, Birmingham proof marks
