With re-browned twist sighted barrels signed along the rib, breeches each with pierced platinum plug and engraved with foliate scrollwork between, border engraved case-hardened tang decorated with foliate scrollwork, signed flat locks and hammers en suite, highly figured half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end, the butt with a shaped silver plaque on one side engraved with a presentation inscription, blued steel trigger-guard and butt-plate engraved en suite with the locks (butt-plate with scattered surface rust), case-hardened trigger-plate with engraved pineapple-shaped finial, rear ramrod-pipe en suite, steel-tipped ramrod, and much original finish: in original lined and fitted oak case with some accessories including James Dixon & Sons powder-flask, the bag-shaped body embossed with a shell on each side, leather shot-flask and circular brass percussion cap dispenser, the exterior of the lid with vacant brass escutcheon with clipped corners, Birmingham proof marks
