Footnotes

  • The Calibre 13.33Z was first introduced in 1913 and was produced for approximately 23 years. Created over a century ago this was one of the first ever chronograph movements designed for a wristwatch as opposed to a pocket watch.

Saleroom notices

  • Since going to print Longines have confirmed the serial number 2'965'009 identifies a Monopusher wrist-chronograph in silver. It is fitted with a Longines manually wound mechanical movement, caliber 13.33Z and was invoiced on 31 March 1916 to the company Wirth, which was at that time their agent for Switzerland. An Extract from the Archive now accompanies the watch.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £2,500 up to and including £300,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £300,000 up to and including £3,000,000;
and 13.9% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £3,000,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.

Bonhams cannot arrange for the delivery of lots containing mother of pearl or ruby into the United States due to import restrictions.
