A carved salmon from the River Eden caught by Edwin Hough, A. P. D. Malloch, Perth
Carved wooden and naturalistically painted mounted on a painted backboard within and oak surround frame, inscribed: "Model of 32lb Salmon Killed by E L Houch in River Eden 4th Nov 1903. On single cut trace. Hooked in Crosby Pool and landed below Eden Grove a distance of about 3/4 of a mile. Found to be hooked at base of dorsal fin," sold together with related documentation, photographs and a gaff. The gaff marked for catches and inscribed: "In at the death of 321 Salmon. Weight 6399lbs". Two volumes of Angling Journals of Mr E L Hough, recording the above fish amongst many others and two reproduced photos of Hough and others at fishing locations
