Items indicated in the catalog as "framed" have not been examined out-of-frame, unless specifically stated.

Most manuscripts over fifty years old, and certain other lots, will require export licenses in order to leave the UK or Europe. We can apply for these on your behalf. Please contact the department if you would like further guidance.

SHIPPING, COLLECTION AND STORAGE
Buyers' accounts are due for settlement at the end of each sale and it is our hope that clients will collect at the same time or certainly within 48 hours of the sale finishing. All sold lots will remain in Bonhams Knightsbridge Book Department without charge for a period of 21 days. Any items not collected by then may incur storage charges. Buyers are encouraged to make contact with the Book Department to discuss any collection, storage or shipping concerns.

Buyers' Obligations

Buyers' Premium and Charges

For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £2,500 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £2,500 up to and including £300,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £300,000 up to and including £3,000,000;
and 13.9% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £3,000,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
