  • Maria Lugossy (Czech, 1950-2012) gold and silversmith, sculptor, and glass designer and artist. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts. Her work can be found in museums worldwide, including the Museé du Louvre in Paris, Corning Museum in New York, Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands, and the British Museum in London. During her lifetime she had over fifty solo exhibitions and contributed to over seventy group shows. She won seventeen awards, including the 1992 Grand Prize at the FIDEM International Congress and Exhibition of Medal Art, British Museum, London, and the 1992 Grand Prize at the Centre International d'Art Contemproain, Chateau Beychevelle, France. Her works are exhibited in twenty-five museums and collections in Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. This work, typical of her art, highlights the dualities of opposites and contrasts.

27.5% on the first £2,500 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £2,500 up to and including £300,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £300,000 up to and including £3,000,000;
and 13.9% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £3,000,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
