the former probably Venetian or Paduan, early 17th century, the later probably late 19th or early 20th century
the candlestick base of canted tripartpartite form, the sides cast with winged putto masks supported by three kneeling male nudes on conforming scroll base, the inkwell formed as the classical god opening the mouth of a grotesque head flanked by twin quill stands on moulded base, the candlestick base, 11cm high, the inkwell 11.3cm high (2) (2)
