  • The type 20 watch was not limited to one brand it was the format used by the French Ministry to instruct the manufacturer the specific functions and styling required. The Breguet Type 20 has become one of the most famous due to the quality of the watch and the fact they reissued it as a civilian watch both at the time and as a reproduction more recently.

    Breguet Produced their first batch of 2000 watches to the military in 1954. Before that they made various prototypes to test features. The required features included in the type 20 specifications were that the watches had to have a black dial, registers situated at 3 and 9 for constant seconds and a minute recording register, flyback for the chronograph while running and a diameter of approximately 38mm.

    La montre de type 20 ne se limitait pas à une seule marque, c'était le format utilisé par le ministère français pour donner au fabricant les fonctions spécifiques et le style requis. La Breguet Type 20 est devenu l'une des plus célèbres de par sa qualité et du fait qu'elle a été rééditée en tant que montre civile à l'époque et plus récemment en reproduction.

    Breguet produit les premières 2000 montres pour l'armée en 1954. Avant cela, divers prototypes ont été fabriqués pour tester les caractéristiques. Les caractéristiques requises incluses dans les spécifications de type 20 étaient un cadran à fond noir, les indications situées à 3 et 9 pour les secondes et les minutes, chronographe à fonction flybach ("retour en vol") et un diamètre d'environ 38 mm.
