The final bid (hammer) price of each lot will be subject to a buyer's premium.
For MOTOR VEHICLE property the premium is 12% on the first $250,000 of the bid price and 10% on any amount of the bid price exceeding $250,000. Buyers are required to pay any applicable import duty, sales or use tax, as the case may be.
For AUTOMOBILIA and other non-motor vehicle property, the premium is 25% on the first $250,000 of the bid price, 20% on the amount exceeding $250,000, up to and including $4,000,000, and 12.5% on any amount exceeding $4,000,000.
For the CHARITY lots 22 through 26, no buyer's premium will be charged.
All Automobiles are subject to a 6.35% Connecticut sales tax. An additional 1.40% sales tax rate is imposed on the full sales price (hammer and premium combined) of any automobile that costs more than $50,000.00. The sales tax is imposed unless you fall under one of two categories:
1. You are a licenced Automobile Dealer. You will be required to supply a copy of your dealer's licence and complete a Connecticut resale certificate.
2. You are an out of state resident. You will be required to complete Certificate-125 'Sales and Use tax Exemption for Motor Vehicle or Vessel Purchased by a Non-resident of Connecticut'. A copy of your driver's licence will also be required.
Please note: Credit cards may not be used to pay for motorcar purchases.
PAYMENT NOTICES
Payment for purchases may be made in or by (a) cash, (b) cashier's check or money order, (c) personal check with approved credit drawn on a U.S. bank, (d) wire transfer or other immediate bank transfer, or (e) Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover credit, charge or debit card for returning clients only. Please note that only automobilia or charity lots may be paid for by credit card and the amount of cash notes and cash equivalents that can be accepted from a given purchaser may be limited. Credit cards may not be used to pay for motorcar purchases.
If you have requested a shipping quote, we will send this to you via email within 5 business days of the auction ending.
Please note our shipping quotes are bespoke and require special care and handling from our team and shippers. Shipping will be booked after payment is received. Please allow 7-14 business days from the time of booking for packing and dispatch, depending on your chosen shipping method.
