The second quoting from Eunapius in "Aedesio" from his Life of the Philosophers and Sophists, describing the delivery of the temples of Egypt to the monks, and showing the esteem with which the Martyrs were already held in Egypt. Newton would later make use of the episode in Observations upon the Prophecies of Daniel..., as well as in an unpublished manuscript "Drafts on the History of the Church."
