    Charlotte Gere/Geoffrey C. Munn, 'Pre-Raphaelite to Arts and Crafts Jewellery', Antique Collectors' Club, England, Suffolk, 1996 (first published in 1989).

    Various designs depicting birds perched in trees and leaves within a heart-shaped outline sketched by Burne-Jones can be found on page 134.

    This box was exhibited by Wartski's of Grafton Street on 8th-21st March 1989, in an loan exhibition to mark the publication of the book of the same title.

    The exhibition reference the box as follows;
    "...by Madeline Wyndham (Mrs Percy Wyndham) who was the most celebrated pupil of Alexander Fisher. Her work was exhibited at the 1893 Royal Academy exhibition. Her home, a house called 'Clouds', designed by Philip Webb, was a favourite resort of artistic and aristocratic circles. Sir Edward Burne-Jones and his family were frequent visitors. The shape and decoration of this box has much in common with the famous artist's work."
