An inrō with four interlocking cases and cover within an openwork sheath, of rounded rectangular cross-section with straight sides, flat top and base, and applied cord-runners, the roiro black-lacquer and gold kinpun ground of the cases and cover decorated in gold, silver, and coloured togidashi maki-e on one side with Aizen Myōō holding a vajra thunderbolt and bell and on the other with Nyorin Kannon holding a sword and wish-granting jewel, the frame decorated in gold and aokin hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, gold kirigane, and shell with chrysanthemum and peony flowers and tendrils, the cord-runners with bold gold nashiji, the interior with gold kinpun; carved wood ojime with a demon mask on one side and a serene Buddha mask on the other; added signature on the base in red seal-style characters Shiomi Shōsei 塩見証誠

Buyers' Premium and Charges

A successful bidder at this sale will be required to pay Bonhams 1793 Limited ("Bonhams") a premium calculated as follows:
25% on the first £175,000 of the hammer price
20% on the excess of £175,001 and up to £3,000,000 of the hammer price
12.5% on the excess of £3,000,001 of the hammer price
VAT at 20% will be payable on the amount of the premium.
The premium is payable for the services to be provided by Bonhams in the Buyer's Agreement which is contained in the catalogue for this Sale and for the opportunity to bid for the Lot at the Sale.

Payment Notices

Payment in advance: by cash, cheque with banker's card, credit card, bank draft or traveller's cheque.

Payment at collection: by credit or debit card.

Credit card charges: a surcharge of 2% is applicable when using Mastercard, Visa and overseas debit cards.
