Laurent Perrier Grand Siècle, Lumière du Millénaire 1990
During the 1950's, Bernard de Nonancourt crafted a new type of wine. Choosing not one but three exceptional years, it is an assemblage of 11 of the 17 Grands Crus. For Pinot Noir: Ambonnay, Bouzy and Mailly and for Chardonnay: Avize, Cramant and Mesnil-sur-Oger. The name refers back to 17th century France, a period known as the Grand Siècle whilst the bottle is a replica of a bottle blown in 1705 in the midst of the Louis XIV's, the 'Sun King's' reign
