• Numéros concordants
• Bien entretenue

Vincent Owners Club records confirm that this Comet is a matching-numbers example (frame, rear frame, and engine) with matching crankcase mating numbers. The Comet was delivered new to Ross Motors of Hinckley, Leicestershire in August 1950. The VOC certificate is on file together with copies of the Completion Note, Works Order Form, and Despatch Check Sheet.

The vendor purchased the Vincent from a German engineer who had owned it for 15 years, during which time he had completely rebuilt the engine, estimated at around 10,000 miles ago.

Since the vendor's acquisition, various works have been undertaken to bring the Comet up to excellent running, riding, and cosmetic order. These include sealing and repainting the fuel tank; restoration of the front end including new brake drums, shoes, shims, and fresh paint; new cables all round; refurbishing the gearbox and rear brakes; repainting the rear stand; and zinc plating various fasteners.

The Comet is currently geared down for better acceleration, though it does come with the original sprocket, which could be refitted to increase top speed. Higher-rise handlebars have been fitted for added comfort (original handlebars available). Offered with a UK V5C Registration Certificate, this is a fine example of the Series-C Comet, ready to ride and enjoy.
