Similar to the last, the bright fullered blade (minor areas of rust patination) etched along one side with owner's crest in a cartouche and crowned 'VR' cypher above the regimental badge and crossed branches of laurel, all within symmetrical scrolling foliage, and on the other with maker's details within a foliate cartouche and further crowned cypher above battle honours within foliage en suite, brass hilt of regulation pattern comprising pierced bars incorporating crowned 'VR' cypher above Union foliage, and hinged inner-guard acting against a spring, in original black leather scabbard (some wear and crazing) with linear engraved brass mounts and two rings for suspension, the locket with foliate frog-button and maker's details on a shield on one side, together with its fabric sword belt with gilt clip-fastener
