Two ivory figural netsuke
18th/early 19th century
Each portraying a Chinese immortal, the first an emaciated figure seated on a rocky cliff, a mugwort cape draped over his shoulder and carrying a staff suspending a pair of drinking gourds over his back, unsigned (minor losses); the second of Gama sennin standing in thick cloud-patterned robes and holding a gnarled staff tied with a drinking gourd, signed Masamitsu (hairline crack, wear).
