A lot of five Belgian bayonets
Comprising: 1) Scarce Model 1848 for the Thouvenin carbine; 24 inch fullered blade, brass hilt marked with crown over LH and lion over G, scabbard throat marked with crown over HD. 2) Scarce sawback Model 1880 revised, 18 inch blade dated 1887 and bearing various inspection and manufactory marks, brass grip marked on the pommel, brass-mounted leather scabbard, the throat with issue mark 3.T.3.155. 3) Model 1916 for the 1889 Mauser, 17 1/2 inch blued blade with flat rib and marked B, walnut gripscales, pommel marked 8411/C (3rd Line Regiment?), blued scabbard with brown leather frog. 4) 19th century socket bayonet, 17 inch triangular blade, socket numbered 4643, Model 1867 scabbard dated 1880. 5) Socket bayonet, experimental (?), for the FAL rifle, 6 3/4 inch blade, the back rounded with beveled point, vented socket with wide collar.
Condition: 1) Blade and guard heavily cleaned and showing areas of pitting, scabbard with partially open seam. 2) Cleaned and showing areas of pitting and scattered marks, scabbard scuffed but sound. 3) Blade retaining much blued finish, scattered marks, scabbard with traces of finish. 4)Dark patina, light pitting. 5) Grey patina, light pitting.
