1968 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce
Chassis no. 251700
Engine no. 20162

•Delivered new to France
•Restored in 2007 and only circa 1500 kilometres since restoration

First introduced in 1962, the early Giulia differed from the outwardly similar 101-Series Giulietta by virtue of its more powerful and much less fussy 1,570cc engine, which continued when the new 105-Series was introduced later that same year. Under the skin the Giulia featured a five-speed manual gearbox, independent front suspension, coil-sprung live rear axle and, apart from early cars, disc brakes all round, a formula shared by the coupé version: the Sprint GT. Launched in 1963 clothed in stylish four-seater coachwork designed by Bertone's Giorgetto Giugiaro, the Sprint GT produced 106bhp, sufficient for a top speed of around 180km/h, while the Sprint GTV (or GT Veloce), introduced for 1967, had 109bhp on tap.

This Giulia Sprint GTV was delivered new to France, and according to the previous (French) owner, remained in the South of France for around 20 years, laid up in a garage near Pau before being restored by a previous owner in 2007. More recent works consist of overhauling the engine and gearbox, and replacing the brakes, shock absorbers, suspension ball joints, etc, while the interior was professionally re-upholstered. Only some 1,500 kilometres have been covered since the rebuild's completion. Finished in Moss Green with Caramel interior, the car boasts clean coachwork, with no rust, and currently displays a total of circa 81,000 kilometres on the odometer. It has a new windscreen and new window seals. The car comes with a French Carte Grise and invoices totalling €8,000 issued by Quadrifoglio to the current owner.
