Coachwork by Carrozzeria Bertone
Chassis no. AR 2428629
Engine no. 30925

•Classic Bertone styling
•Superb driver's car
•This ownership for 24 years

The first of Alfa Romeo's much loved Bertone-styled coupés - the 1.6-litre Giulia Sprint GT - was launched in 1963. Mechanically the stylish new 2+2 was much the same as the Giulia TI sports saloon, featuring a five-speed manual gearbox, independent front suspension, coil-sprung live rear axle and disc brakes all round. A 1300 model - the GT Junior - arrived in 1966 and the range was further extended the following year by the launch of the 1750 GTV, the latter powered by a 1,799cc, 118bhp version of Alfa's classic twin-cam four housed in a four-headlamp version of the existing bodyshell and running on 14" - down from 15" - wheels. A short-lived but nonetheless popular model, the 1750 GTV was replaced by the 2000 version in 1972. The latter retained its predecessor's coachwork but with minor detail styling changes, and came with improved performance courtesy of its torquey, 132bhp engine. Driver's cars par excellence in the best Alfa Romeo tradition, Bertone's timelessly elegant Giulia-based coupés are among the most exciting sports models of the 1960s and '70s and all versions are highly sought after today.

This particular 2000 GTV has been in the current enthusiast owner's hands for the last 24 years and is described as un-restored apart from a repaint in 2012. Well maintained while in the owner's private collection, it is said to be in generally very good condition, with no rust, and highly original. The car is offered with Greek 'historic' registration papers.
