With blued octagonal sighted barrel engraved in script with retailer's name and address in full along the blued top-strap, serial numbered case-hardened cylinder, blued border engraved frame decorated with foliate scrollwork on each side, blued safety-stop, arbor pin and catch, blued 1854 patent lever rammer, blued foliate scroll engraved trigger-guard and ovoidal butt-cap (loss of finish), the latter with hinged cover engraved with a scallop shell, chequered figured rounded butt, and silver escutcheon engraved with owner's name 'Hermann Schwartz', and retaining most of its original finish: in original lined and fitted oak case with accessories including brass bullet mould and Dixon & Son powder-flask, last retaining most of its original finish and with split-ring for suspension, the interior of the lid with yellow maker's label of Deane, Adams & Deane, 30 King William Street, London Bridge, the exterior with vacant circular brass escutcheon, London proof marks
