Compiled by Herbert Fitch to his wife Jeannie, comprising photographs, jewellery sketches, cards and poems, commemmorating their marriage together from 1875 onwards, contained in red Morocco extra gilt folio, inscribed 'H.J.F. Forget-me-Nots J.W.F.'

  • Herbert Fitch (1849-1933) served as Master of the Worshipful Company of Stationers from 1922-1923 and was a member of the Society of Lloyds. His company, Herbert Fitch & Co, were artists, designers, lithographic and letterpress printers, with premises on Bury Street in the City of London.

    Herbert and Jeannie married in Highgate, London in 1875. It was Herbert's custom to present his wife with a piece of jewellery that he had designed throughout their marriage.

    Herbert and Jeannie's family tomb is located in Brompton Cemetery, Kensington and Chelsea, and is Grade II listed.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,000 up to and including £450,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
