Moto Guzzi 498 cm3 Superalce Type Militaire 1947
Frame no. AV33165
Engine no. AV106500

Introduced in the late 1930s, the Alce (elk) would serve as the Italian Army's main military motorcycle during WW2, in excess of 6,000 being delivered up to 1943. Post-war the Alce was updated with the more powerful overhead-valve engine of the GTV/GTW in single-port configuration, becoming the Superalce, which remained in service with the Italian Army and Police well into the 1950s. This Superalce was purchased by the vendor in Austria in October 2009 and imported into Germany. The engine and mechanicals were then restored by marque specialists, more than €7,000 being spent, while the rest of the machine was left untouched to preserve its originality and patina. Since then the Superalce has been serviced regularly by Moto Guzzi specialists in the Munich area. The machine is offered with old Italian libretto, ACI papers, German registration document and TüV.
