A rare Regency brass-inlaid wrought iron or steel skewer holder, dated 1817, with ten skewers
Having a flat balustroid stem inlaid in brass with a sun rendered with features including a frown, above the initials 'EF', and the date '1817', with four scattered six-pointed stars, topped by an integral disc finial pierced for hanging, and issuing at its base a pair of curved prongs, 17.5cm wide x 16cm high (6.5in wide x 6in high), together with twelve iron skewers, probably associated, of tapering flat-form, all pierced to their disc tops, the longest 23.5cm high (9in high); the shortest 13cm high (5in high), (13)
