fourth quarter 18th century
Seated, wearing a lion's skin, on the circular case within oak leaf wreath supported by standing lion on fluted plinth above marble base with leafy scroll frieze, circular white enamel dial with roman chapters, pierced gilt scroll hands, movement with thread suspended pendulum to anchor escapement, striking the hour and half hour by means of a crossed out count wheel.
