A rare 17th century matchlock musket rest/linstock
The iron rest comprising a Y-shaped yoke, one arm formed as a match serpentine with wing nut, the other scrolling to a round aperture for the match; the front sides of the uprights molded to form hooked brackets; the whole extending from a flared, baluster-form socket. Together with marble and plexi stand.
Condition: Showing dark patina, one arm of the yoke with partial split.
