Copper-engraved map, hand-colored in outline, 420 x 510, with 3 columns of letterpress text below "A Compendious Account of the British Colonies in North America," sheet size 725 x 520 mm. A few small papers repairs, some chipping along upper edge, some splits at creases, silked. Matted and framed.

RARE REVOLUTIONARY WAR ERA BROADSIDE, FIRST PRINTING. This separately issued map is dated March 20, 1776, just a few days after the British evacuation of Boston.
"Fine, detailed map of the entire area east of Louisiana, after the famous Evans map. It is accompanied by Evans's table of distances between principal towns, forts and other places in the British colony. Below the copperplate there are three columns of text, including information about each colony" (Nebenzahl Cat. 7, no 363). Stevens & Tree 59a.
