Autograph presentation signature and subscription ("William Wordsworth/ 2nd March 1849/ Rydal Mount") on a slip, pasted into a partially disbound odd volume of his Poetical Works (Edward Moxon, 1846)
This volume is inscribed to Wilson Fox from his [paternal] aunt Sarah Crewdson, at Fieldfoot, August 1853. Wilson Fox later became Physician in Ordinary to Queen Victoria, and was to inherit Fieldfoot from his aunt. It was not doubt she who obtained this autograph from Wordsworth, who has signed it with his full name rather than the more usual "Wm". This no doubt reflects the fact that Wordsworth was a neighbour Fieldfoot, Rydal, being very near Rydal Mount.
