1948 Case VAC Series Tractor
Chassis no. VAC5262266
Founded in 1843 by Jerome Increase Case to produce hand-powered thresher machines, Case quickly advanced with the times to incorporate steam and later gas power. The introduction of the internal combustion engines to tractors allowed them to greatly scale down from the hulking, steam powered behemoths, giving way to a new market for small tractors. It was in the vein that case introduced is VA-series tractor in 1942.

The VA-series, an update of the short lived V-series of 1939-42, was an unabashed success that helped America and the world through WWII and the economic boom that soon followed in the 1950s. Initially powered by the Continental four that gave gusto to its predecessor, Case eventually went on to build a proprietary 124ci OHV four-cylinder, with power routed through a four-speed transmission and all-gear final drive. Offered in a variety of models and specs, the VA could be ordered for just about any job, with the implements to go along with them available as well! Built until 1955, 150,000 examples rolled out of Case's Racine, Wisconsin factory.

This VAC, the 'C' standing for 'Cultivator', was one of the more popular models offered. Fitted with the narrow, two-wheel, row-crop front end and a number of optional features including a power-take-off, an electric starter, and electric lights, it shows well in its classic Flambeau Red paint job. Besides a repaint some time ago, the tractor is an otherwise well maintained original that has been reported to run strong. The fact so many VA-series tractors are still being used is a testament to the ruggedness that these machines were made to endure. Whether for show or use, this VAC will no doubt fit the bill!

Offered on a Bill of Sale.
