Decorated with a dancer balancing on a box, imitating a bird about to fly, a feather fan at his feet while an attendant kneels, holding a closed fan, among sprigs of plum blossom and wild plants, lacquered in gold and coloured takamakie and inlaid in mother-of-pearl, stained ivory and coral, signed on a mother-of-pearl tablet Shibayama Soichi; with a glass ojime. 8.5cm (3 3/8in).

20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £300,000 up to and including £3,000,000;
and 13.9% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £3,000,000.
