An important Australian birds-eye huon pine half tester bed
Tasmania, circa 1873
The tester with a moulded cornice above a scalloped apron decorated with applied carved rosettes, above an upholstered back with drapes, the cartouch shaped foot board wonderful birds-eye huon pine veneers and conforming rosette roundals, with Pierre Frey 'Nerval Jonquille' upholstery and curtains, and 'Hermine Jonquille' bed cover, 175cm wide, 205cm deep, 252cm high (68.5in wide, 80.5in deep, 99in high).
