An early Marlin Model 39 lever action rifle with NRA case
Serial no. S13088, .22 S-L & LR. 24 inch blued octagonal barrel with Marlin Firearms Corporation markings, full magazine, Marbles Sheard fore-sight and elevator rear sight. Casehardened takedown action. Tang fitted with flexible tang sight and marked with a Star, the factory symbol for guns of superior quality. Oil-finished walnut fore-end and pistolgrip stock. Maker's hard rubber buttpad bearing oval Marlin logo. With original NRA-marked black leatherette-covered case.
Condition: Excellent and showing very little use. Barrel/magazine tube retain 99% dark blue finish showing just some minor edge and muzzle wear. Fine bore. Action with 96-98% vivid casehardening colors. Lever with traces of casehardening. Excellent wood, the buttstock with a few light scratches. Case fine, the exterior showing some staining and minor tears.
